Here are the sound bites from NFL Network's "NFL Gameday Morning" pregame show. The quotes are provided by the NFL Network PR department.
Quotes from NFL GameDay Morning:
?I look at Eli, he?s just as cool as Tom Brady under pressure; nothing bothers him. Romo, everything seems to bother him when things go wrong.? ? Marshall Faulk on Giants quarterback Eli Manning and Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo
?It comes down to that last quarter ? maybe the last drive or two ? as to who wins this game, and the Giants have simply been better in those situations this year.? ? Steve Mariucci on the New York Giants-Dallas Cowboys game for the NFC East title
?It plays into the hands of what Tim Tebow and that defense want to be. They want to be a team that keeps the score down and gives Tim one or two possessions in the fourth quarter. That is when he?s at his best.? ? Kurt Warner on the Denver Broncos? matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs
?The reason there will be Tebow magic today is because Willis McGahee is that every-down back that can get it done for the Broncos.? ? Steve Mariucci on Broncos running back Willis McGahee
?No way, no how [do you] give up on Mark Sanchez. He?s just getting started? He?s going to be better as the team progresses. Let?s have an important offseason, get some linemen and another receiving corps to help him out a little bit, and a great quarterback school and detail every situation you can so this guy progresses in his career. You don?t give up on this guy; you coach him up and you get him better.? ? Steve Mariucci on the New York Jets and third-year quarterback Mark Sanchez
?Is this a guy you can drop back 30 times and expect him to win games for you? No. When they had success it was running the football, playing good defense and allowing Mark to make plays here and there at big times in games. If they?re going to get away from that, if they?re not going to be a running team, then I don?t know if Mark is the right answer there because he plays the game differently.? ? Kurt Warner on New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez
?You have to show us this week going into Cincinnati where Joe Flacco has struggled. You have to get a win on the road. Show me that you can win on the road.? ? Marshall Faulk on the Baltimore Ravens
?It?s all about the trenches. The Oakland Raiders, they dominate the line of scrimmage offensively running the football. Michael Bush should have a huge day today because the U-Haul is packed for the Chargers, and even in a rivalry game I don?t know if they can stop this train from going downhill.? ? Marshall Faulk on the Oakland Raiders facing the San Diego Chargers
?The whole plan to how they want this organization to move forward. Are they going to put all of their eggs in the basket with Tim Tebow and run on down the road? That?s what is at stake for them: their way of life.? ? Warren Sapp on the Denver Broncos
?Until Tony Romo brings that trophy home like [Roger] Staubach, like [Troy] Aikman, he?s going to be Danny White.? ? Warren Sapp on Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo
?This team is close and they have the explosiveness to make some plays and to beat one of those teams in the AFC playoffs.? ? Kurt Warner on the Cincinnati Bengals
?Somebody has told Tim Tebow he?s a pretty darn good quarterback and they need him to play quarterback. Tim Tebow is a football player ? he?s playing quarterback. He needs to get back to that.? ? Marshall Faulk on Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow
?They are physically ready, but are they atmospherically ready? This atmosphere is going to be like no other. Whether your fans come or not, Ray [Lewis] and that defense are going to play playoff football today, and I don?t know if they?re ready for that.? ? Michael Irvin on the Cincinnati Bengals facing the Baltimore Ravens

On Colts head coach Jim Caldwell:
I keep hearing the sense that he?s safe because he?s won a couple of games and because Bill Polian likes him. You have to go back to Peyton Manning; if he comes back, Peyton Manning has only played in three offenses ? high school, college and the Colts. I don?t think you?re going to see a lot of reshaping of the Colts, especially if Bill Polian is in place. Bill Polian has a tremendous influence ? coaching and personnel ? within the organization. I don?t see that.
On Buccaneers head coach Raheem Morris:
It was my understanding going into last week?s game against Carolina they wanted to bring Raheem Morris back. But after that debacle last week, I think they?re really left with no choice: they have to make this decision because essentially the team that he was defending has quit on him.
On the Bears offseason plans:
The first thing they have to do is solve the Mike Martz problem; he did not sign an extension, he is not expected to be back. They need an offensive coordinator to come in there that can fit for Jay Cutler. They also need to repair their offensive line; they have to get younger in their defense, so they have a lot of checklists to do. The offensive line is critical and the age of the defense has to concern Lovie Smith because Brian Urlacher and Lance Briggs are getting up there in age.
On the Eagles offseason plans:
The first thing Andy Reid has to do is have a meeting to decide if he wants to continue with defensive coordinator Juan Castillo. Even though they?ve played better in the last month of the season against some teams, they have to hire a defensive coordinator and change the defense, get somebody in there. Juan Castillo, that experiment didn?t work out much in Philadelphia. Secondly, they have to get some linebackers; they have to get some linebackers that can actually make some plays. And then thirdly, they have to get a backup quarterback because they know Michael Vick is going to get hurt and Vince Young obviously didn?t deliver for them especially with the Seattle loss. There are some disappointments there: they need to get a backup quarterback.
On the Redskins offseason plans:
They?re going to try to find a franchise quarterback. They are in a tough situation; they?re going to be a little lower in the draft and they?re going to have to find that franchise quarterback. When you do this in year three of your program, it becomes a little tedious because now all of a sudden people are expecting you to win in year three. Mike [Shanahan] has been 5-11, 6-10 ? could be 5-11 ? so it?s going the other way. He needs to get the franchise quarterback and he has all of the problems on offense; he has to fix his offensive line, he has to get healthy in his offensive line. They need to get some skill players; he needs to get some juice in his outside receivers so they can make some plays. It?s really an offensive situation in Washington.
On if the Rams get the No. 1 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft:
The Rams have already told Sam Bradford?s representatives that they?re not interested in drafting a quarterback next season, so that means they?re holding the pick up for auction. The Ricky Williams analogy is the perfect one because the one thing that drives competitive forces and pays high is when you get competition in the NFL. We know Washington is going to want to be up there to draft a quarterback, we know Miami is going to want to draft a quarterback and we also know that the Cleveland Browns are not going to go with Colt McCoy ? they?re going to want to draft a quarterback. There are three teams for one player; that spells an awful king?s ransom you could make. You can rebuild the St. Louis Rams with those picks. It?s going to be held to the highest bidder. You?re going to get a very good deal; at least two number ones and you?re also going to be able to get some second round picks. It?s a perfect situation for St. Louis whether they?re one or two; it doesn?t matter because all they need is for another quarterback to come out and then they?re in the perfect place.

On the Raiders? front office search:
They are going to restructure, they are going to make changes and it could start in earnest as soon as Monday depending on what happens in their game and whether or not they?re in the postseason. Ken Herock, a longtime NFL executive, he?s served multiple tours of duty with the Raiders when Al Davis was there, he?s leading the charge. He?s in there every day with Amy Trask and Mark Davis, Al?s son, putting together a list of candidates. Reggie McKenzie and Eliot Wolf, both of the Green Bay Packers, I continue to hear a strong buzz about them as the favorites for this job. Herock worked for years with Ron Wolf; Ron Wolf promoted Reggie McKenzie in Green Bay, Ron Wolf?s son is Eliot Wolf. So there are a lot of ties there. They?re also going to reach out to people like Eric DeCosta of the Baltimore Ravens, Tom Gamble in San Francisco. There will be other candidates out there, but really there is a growing sentiment that the tandem of McKenzie and Eliot Wolfe will get a good crack at this position.
On other front office candidates around the league:
Ray Anderson. A lot of people know him from the league office, he?s the head of football operations, he?s the disciplinary czar in terms of on-field issues ? handing out suspensions for Ndamukong Suh and the like. You talk to general managers, you to talk to agents, people involved at putting these people in place at various front offices with openings, there is a sentiment that Ray Anderson is going to be a candidate out there if something opens up. Ray himself, I spoke to him; he said ?I?m not going to get into any speculation, I love what I am doing here at the league office.? But there are also people who work with him who point out this is someone who was a player and an agent, he worked at the NFLPA, he worked for individual NFL teams and then he worked at the league office. He?s been willing to take different career risks in the past.
On the chance that the Cowboys and Giants are looking for a new head coach:
Dallas, I don?t see anything really happening here, other than Jason Garrett maybe having someone to take some of his hats off of his head and help maybe with the offense or beef up that staff around Jason Garrett because he has a lot to do. With the Giants, I think what people are omitting is that Tom Coughlin at this stage of his career goes to year to year, and he may well decide I have this beautiful new house that is built, I have the grandbabies, maybe I step aside, maybe enough is enough for me. In which case that would be a coveted job; that?s the one job I hear Bill Cowher truly would covet if it opened up.
On if Steve Spagnuolo is coaching his last game as Rams head coach today:
He probably is; I would be very surprised if it?s not. Owner Stan Kroenke, he?s had a list in front of him thinking of potential coaching candidates and front office candidates; it could be GM names as well. I fully expect them if they make a move to go after Jeff Fisher, and I don?t think Jon Gruden is leaving the booth but I would think Kroenke wants to hear that directly from Gruden?s lips.
